| Introduction |
Module 1 is designed to provide an understanding of some of the main concepts of IT at a general level. |
| Course Content |
In this module the candidate will learn about the make-up of a personal computer in terms of hardware and software and understand some of the concepts of Information Technology (IT). The candidate shall also learn how information networks are used within computing and be aware of the uses of software applications in everyday life. In addition this module includes issues pertaining to health and safety, the environment, security and the law. |
| Career Prospects |
On completion of all seven modules you will gain the ECDL Certificate, awarded by the British Computer Society (BCS). This internationally recognised qualification demonstrates to employers that you are fully competent in the use of a personal computer and common computer applications, and that you know the essential concepts of Information Technology. |
