The online world opens up a whole new world of opportunities and ways to communicate. e-Citizen can teach you the skills to get online, search for information on-line, shop on-line and communicate via e-mail. You will learn to be able to access information, communicate with government bodies and do online banking. What's more, you will also be shown how to do this safely and securely and how to be alert for any dangers. |
| Course Content |
Basic skills in using a computer, Windows and the Internet. Learn e-mail basics and how to search for information on the Internet. Understand problems and risks associated with using the Internet. Know your consumer rights and protection measures when purchasing on-line. The course is certificated by the British Computer Society and suitable for beginners. |
| Career Prospects |
e-Citizen is a nationally recognised certificate which assists in careers which need IT skills in the area of using the Internet. It can also be used as foundation preparation for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). |

To gain the full certificate you must take a 45 minute closed book computerised assessment. |
